Vietnam: A crystal-clear perspective on a land of contrasts

Vietnam is multifaceted, vibrant, and full of surprises. Just like glass: clear, strong, and layered. For a Belgian company in the glass industry, FAME designed an incentive trip that wove the destination’s soul into the client’s brand story. The theme became literal: a crystal-clear perspective on Vietnam.

Starting up north: Hanoi in all its facets
The journey began in Hanoi, where French colonial façades and bustling street markets alternate like layers of glass in an artistic creation. You stroll through the old quarter, sample the first scents and flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, and are mesmerized by the centuries-old water puppet theater—an art passed down through generations, much like glassblowing.

A bike rally winding through narrow lanes brought teams closer to each other and to the local community. Negotiating, creative thinking, observing—skills our client also wants to see applied when selling in the glass industry.

Tam Coc: Nature as a Mirror
From Hanoi, we headed to Tam Coc, often called “Halong Bay on land.” In a sampan, we glided through tranquil waters, past rice paddies and limestone cliffs that reflected in the water as clearly as glass. Inside one of the caves, we savored a countryside lunch—pure, simple, and unforgettable.

Halong Bay: Layered like a glass masterpiece
No Vietnam without Halong Bay. For two days, we sailed among thousands of rock formations rising from emerald-green waters. By day, kayaking or swimming; by night, dining in a grotto lit only by candles and torches, just for us.

Mornings began with Tai Chi on the deck. Slow, focused, transparent. The perfect metaphor for how we design journeys at FAME: thoughtful, balanced, and detail-oriented.

Central Vietnam: Tradition meets Modern Design
After the natural splendor of the north, we moved to the historic and creative heart of central Vietnam. In Hoi An—a town that feels like a carefully restored work of art—we admired vibrant streets, artisan markets, and enjoyed a seafood BBQ on a private beach. The setting was breathtaking, but the real value lay in the connection between participants—exactly the goal of this incentive.

Why Vietnam works perfectly for incentives
Vietnam offers, like glass, a unique combination of clarity and layers. You see beauty at a glance—but the closer you look, the more detail you discover. The country is versatile: city and nature, action and relaxation.

We chose activities that literally and figuratively offered a fresh perspective: reflections in water and glass, encounters that shifted perspective, moments of crystal-clear insight. Thus, the “crystal-clear perspective” theme became more than a slogan—it became an experience participants took home.

This trip proved once again that a well-crafted incentive program is more than a reward. It’s an opportunity to connect people, brands, and destinations. And if that connection can happen with the clarity and precision of glass, you get an experience that will echo for years to come.
